The home inspection industry is always finding new and innovative ways of improving. Thermal imaging just happens to be the new thing. Although this is not new in our industry, it is becoming the norm.
Thermal imaging is used primarily to see how energy efficient a home is around open areas such as Windows and doors. Thermal imaging can also be used to locate areas on or around the a/c duct and chase system.
Remember to always always ask your home inspector if he does thermal imaging and if it's included in the cost of the inspection.
