Candela, a 460-acre community in Richmond, is on track open to initial residents in spring 2021, according to the developer.
Johnson Development Services delivered the first 96 lots to Coventry Homes, Perry Homes and Westin Homes. The master-planned community, off FM 359 south of the Westpark Tollway, is planned for 1,500 homes.
"The builders — coupled with an excellent location near the Westpark Tollway and a generous amenity package — should be very appealing to buyers," Michael Cox, Johnson Development's president, said in an announcement.
Candela is in the hot spot where small town charm meets easy access to big city conveniences. Major employers in Houston, Katy, and Sugar Land are only a short commute away. Brazos Bend State Park, the Imperial Farmers Market, great restaurants, and local and big box retail offerings are all within orbit.

Candela is located in the Lamar Consolidated Independent School District. The community is a few miles south of Cross Creek Ranch, a 3,200-acre community of Johnson Development Corp. in Fulshear.
